Is Don Johnson's character "The Comedian" of this show

Not the actual character, but someone we get flashbacks too all season trying to figure out the cause of his death.

I was wondering that too, since the graphic novel opens with the death of the comedian, plus Don Johnson was cracking off jokes and making people laugh. But then I thought he could also be night owl since he had his ship.
