Dr. Manhattan was framed as having caused his own friends/countryman to get cancer merely by his existence. His angry reaction and, relocating to Mars directly after, severed any link to being merely an American weapon. Veidt orchestrates the fake Dr. Manhattan attacks on the globe and the rest is history. Even if that didn't happen, Veidt's attacks happened worldwide, so how would it be a second Civil War?

The cancer conspiracy didn’t decode him as American. America’s weapon gave out cancer as a side-effect. Just like American companies are wreaking the environment here and around the world. How Manhattan felt about that conspiracy and left didn’t change that.

Again. Once Manhattan was coded as American whatever he did, good or bad, was America’s fault. You don’t get to pick and choose when the dropped bomb you made is your responsibility.

Only from it being outside anyone’s action do you have a common enemy.

He's a sentient human being. Well, he's far beyond human at this point, but his free will still is unchanged. If the Soviets or any other super power felt they could turn him to their side they would. He exiled himself to Mars after that cancer shyt came out. The next thing everyone knows, he attacked the world at large, including the US. How is that cause for a civil war as opposed to the whole world being put on notice? Dr. Manhattan doesn't fukk with any of us. He'll kill us at a large scale, indiscriminate of our allegiance.

Who caught the fact that the bytch that double crosses Looking Glass mentions to him in the diner that her favorite movie is a Spielberg film called Pale Horse?

She tells him she’s seen it over a thousand times and it’s shot in black in white and uses red for a girls coat who survives the squid attack.

Sounds like another movie Spielberg did in our reality

If Lindelof isn't going to do season 2 I'm not sure I even want one

NOBODY is on his level right now. I would be afraid they would just turn it into an action show or something.
