Complete bs and propaganda. Hashd militas fired at protesters the Americans had zip to do with it. The fact this got this many retweets shows how easily can be spun in this fevered social media climate.

people in this this thread are just going to digest whatever they see as fact or actively push propaganda willingly or not unfortunately

Let me be clear. I dont care about the sniper stuff, but the 50% of oil revenues doesn't sound outside the bounds of consideration. And going back to the days of Cheney, folks would say the IS was in Iraq for oil.

People do/will believe that marine snipers are though and it's absurd. The point is that it is believable and that's how propaganda works especially when you've already been conditioned to think it is possible. It is completely outside of the bounds of international law, US law, and probably a million other issues.

the retweet is of a retweet of a guy with like 2k followers both accounts are pro Hezbollah, Assad, and etc etc etc

that took me all of two minutes to look into

:childplease: come on breh. this is a blatant lie :dahell:

they hate america because we go in and bomb and destabilize all around them, and support israel. why the fukk would they hate america from 5,000 miles away after we left THEIR region of the world
I wonder how the US and its citizens would feel if China had military bases in Canada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Haiti and Cuba. On top of that, regularly committed drone strikes in the region, which also killed civilians.

Is the translation incorrect? Unfortunately I dont speak Arabic.. the outgoing Iraqi prime minister's comments seem just as relevant as trump's/Pompeo's/Rouhani's etc to this thread

i did a quick read through just now it looks like a fairly accurate translation. that being said im not sure how reliable the source is ive never heard of that guy ahmad khazraji before. and even if that is accurate i doubt al-Mahdi is completely reliable. for instance the claim that the US is behind the recent protests i find almost impossible to believe especially considering how silent the State Department was about it

Did you miss the entire War in Iraq thing? :ohhh: :heh:

The Iraq war, let's see....

Anyone who protested was dismissed as unpatriotic. No one was reall asking question after 9/11.

People only started questioning again after the heat of the war, and by then, in my head the military was exempt and i squarely put the blame on the Bush government.

That was my thinking anyway.

SOHH ICEY MONOPOLY
For yall saying that marines wouldnt get down like that, for the most part I agree. The vast majority of our armed forces are honorable men and women. But I know for a fact that American soldiers have got down in grimey ways in Iraq cuz Ive been told as much by a very close family friend that was there in Fallujah during the height of shyt. Like civilian homes being designated a 'insurgent hideout' and whole families wiped out kinda shyt. Yall think its really insane for a couple snipers to slip up and hit up protestors who may be about to turn a demonstration violent? Every invading army ever has done foul shyt, no matter whether they the good guys in the conflict or not. But Im not putting that on the troops, Im interested in the govt extorting Iraq for 50% of their oil and threatening to murder an interim prime minister. THAT shyt right there is explosive

wtf

this is a third or fourth parties interpretation of a conversation that was supposedly held on the sidelines of the Iraqi Parliament there's no way to even verify it
