I would assume that with a statement like that, Israel already assured Iran secretly that they had nothing to do with it and they are staying out.

When Bibi the warmonger, who never met a conflict he didn't like, is on some :hubie:

The level of fukkery at play is off the charts....
Yet people in here really thought they could defeat iran with little or any u.s support :russ:thecoli.com yall :laff:

I don't how some people can believe this issue will not escalate. This assassination really hurt the Iranians. Seen their leaders bawling their eyes at the funeral. Trump done start something.
They will squeeze Trump chance of getting elected near election time by shooting up the oil prices. Once he loses, they will target him and his family individually. They don't want a war with the U.S. They are aiming straight at Trump and that's smart.

USA soldiers with blown off limbs like back in 2003-2008. Even if Trump defies Sadr he gonna make it worse for soldiers on ground because now they're sitting ducks.
Word. And here is another thing too. The Shia militias in Iraq never coordinated with each other in a guerrilla war against the US. If shyt pops off those 5k US soldiers are in for a world of hurt. Also watch Afghanistan too because the US is vulnerable there too.

Sadr did not break from Iran. He's a populist and has looked to channel public anger about Iran's influence in Iraqi politics. But he did not break his ties. In fact he was in Iran when Soleimani got killed.

He also was there when the protests first started:Iraq’s Muqtada al-Sadr visits Iran despite protest upheaval at home

This may very well be Sadr trying to outmaneouver his competitors from PMU and other Shia political blocs, and to make the right noises to keep his ties with the Iran in good standing. Its the same reason Hamas is in Tehran right now.

I am very skeptical that anything like your last sentence will happen. I think Irans first priority is to limit blowback at home and anything that could destabilize their regime. Theyve remained patient and risk averse for four decades, I dont think it changes now. Just look how Hezb responded to Imad Mugniyehs assasination ( or didnt respond)
Iran will respond if they don’t they will be perceived weak to their proxies who will lose faith in them. The tanker explosions, the Aramco attacks, the shootdown of the US RQ-4 UAV are all examples of spectacular Iranian actions, and none were in such serious circumstances. They will likely strike back at the US in Iraq and or Afghanistan using their proxies.
