For those that say Iran has nothing to do with this recent attack.... It doesn't matter because Iran wins either way.

Al-Shabaab does this for clout... it proves that they can execute an operation on the ground, Iranian secret service gets in contact with group, then they become an asset and they get more, better support. Now, they're connected and Iran can disavow involvement. This is what Iran wants...

ETA: Attack failed, but point still stands.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

I expect this to happen several times over at different military installations with Iran not being involved.
