The year 3030
Doom definitely needs a buildup, but nowhere near the length of what they did with Thanos. Too many characters and stories at their disposal. a 2 movie buildup with Doom would be fine. I wish they did this with the Mandarin in Iron Man but we not gonna mention that debacle.

Sorry @Ironman But the way they did Mandarin was :pacspit: . And yeah, they tried to fix it, but the damage was done.

oh yeah, I don't want no thanos level shyt. 1 movie, 2 movie tops should be sufficient.

The only Thanos level I'd want would be DC doing Darkseid. Rest can be one offs or 1-2 films.

Venom 2 Director Andy Serkis Says Tom Hardy Helped Write Sequel Movie

While Andy Serkis was only just named director of the upcoming sequel to the Venom movie, lots of work is being done on the project already. Serkis appeared at the TCA press tour to discuss his upcoming turn as the Ghost of Christmas Past in FX's A Christmas Carol, and also took the time to speak briefly about the film.

"I'm right in the beginning stages, so I've got some very clear ideas about the journey, [and what] I'd like to see visually, and how we can take the characters into another direction," he explained.

However, Serkis also revealed that Tom Hardy, who stars as the titular Venom, is hard at work on the film's story. "Tom was very involved with the writing--with [screenwriter] Kelly Marcel--of the new story," he said. "So it's very much centered around their take."

For now, though, Serkis is simply looking forward to what's to come. "I'm excited to work with all the great actors who are involved. It's a fantastic franchise," he said. "I'm really honored to have been asked to direct it. And it feels like it's a very, again, very contemporary story. And it's I think it's going to be, hopefully, a story piece of cinema."

Still, even with a massive project like Venom on the horizon, Serkis has no plans to stop acting altogether to focus on directing. "I love doing both. I absolutely love doing both," he admitted. "And man, it's a wonderful thing to be able to go from the intimacy of playing a single character and seeing the world through that character's point of view to stepping back and envisioning and being part of creating, you know, the whole picture."

A release date for Venom 2 has not been officially announced.

‘Venom 2’ Begins Shooting This November, Working Title Revealed

Get ready for more symbiote shenanigans, as Venom 2 is gearing up to begin filming in November. This is a sequel that entered development almost instantly after Venom hit theaters last year and proved to be a larger hit than anyone expected, offering Sony a major boost in the comic book movie game. Now, they've got most of the pieces needed in place and are prepping to begin production, which means before we know it, Tom Hardy will be back as Eddie Brock.

According to a new production listing, Venom 2 will start filming on November 25 and will be shooting under the working title Fillmore. Beyond that, little else has been revealed. What we know for sure is that Andy Serkis has been tapped to direct the sequel. Serkis is known best for his on-screen work as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings and Caesar in the Planet of the Apes movies, but he's recently transitioned to directing as well, with movies like Breathe and Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle. This is easily his most high-profile gig to date.

Ruben Fleischer directed the first Venom, but he's finishing up Zombieland: Double Tap right now and moving right into production on Venom 2 would have been an exhausting undertaking. Aside from Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams has also confirmed her return. The big hook here is that Woody Harrellson will be back as Cletus Kasady, who we got a small glimpse at in the first movie's post-credit scene. The assumption is that he will become Carnage in the sequel, which will finally bring the beloved Marvel Comics character to the big screen. Another interesting development is that Oscar-winning cinematographer Robert Richardson is working on the movie, which adds some prestige to the project.

As it stands, Sony hasn't officially locked down a release date for the sequel. However, they do have an untitled Marvel sequel set for October 2, 2020. With that in mind, it's presumed this is the date they have in mind for Venom 2. That means the production schedule could be a bit tight if they hope to stick to that date. The studio also has Morbius, which stars Jared Leto, set to arrive on July 31, 2020, which will be the second live-action Spider-Man spin-off in their planned shared universe to hit theaters.

It's worth mentioning the situation with Spider-Man. Now that Sony is no longer working with Marvel Studios, Tom Holland's Peter Parker is free to crossover with Tom Hardy's Venom, and it's highly likely that's something the studio will want to do sooner rather than later. With that in mind, don't be surprised to find out that Holland is going to have a cameo, or maybe more, in Venom 2. Granted, that hasn't been announced and it's partially speculative, but it makes every bit of business sense in the world. We'll be sure to keep you posted as further information on the project is made available. This news comes to us via Production Weekly.

I really want to see Hardy’s Venom and Tom hollands Spider-Man together in a movie. Then woody as carnage too. I’m sorry but Spidey leaving the MCU to Sony still has potential :wow:

Spidey and Batman are 1a and 1b for me :francis: even the trash Garfield series I had to watch. I won’t even watch these new DC movies after BvS until they do Bats justice.

So that being the case, even tho I’m lowkey hoping Sony fukks it up again so they gotta make things right with Marvel, I still gotta support my guy.

Plus Sony got the current best Spidey movie now imo, even tho it’s animated, and it’s not even Peter :jbstephena:. So I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt one more time.

That’s basically how I feel man hopefully Sony has learned from Fiege and let Jon Watts have the freedom to go all out with the Spider-Man universe.
