marcus was hurt all year. kennedy was hurt in the tourney.
joel berry is killing it in practice which allows marcus to play his more natural off the ball position
justin jackson was a freshman who started to play like a lottery pick. another summer to put on weight and improve
top 20 recruit theo pinson missed essentially the entire year. you don't think adding him on the wing helps?
kenny williams provides shooting.
so they had injuries (theo, marcus, kennedy). they added pieces (3 pt shooting in kenny and essentially re-adding theo). they had continued development of the freshmen (joel berry and justin jackson)
they're a senior and junior dominated roster who removed one of their biggest detriments on offense and rumored locker room problem (jp tokoto)
they're a more than worthy #1
no i said 04-05 unc which is the right team. marvin was a big addition even tho he didn't start
and their core talent getting better is exactly what i meant by player development. we have a ton of upperclassmen who continue to develop and get healthy. best example is kennedy continues to slim down and brice continues to bulk up.

Ok we shall see. Kennedy is the only who has gotten better imo. That former vcu receuit vould be a good addition but does that put them over the top? We wont be able to tell until March anyhow bc Roy williams teams always start slow.
brice continues to improve. he just needs to work on moving his feet. foul trouble is the only thing that can stop him
justin is gonna surprise people. he's really good. same for joel.
it all comes down to marcus tho. he stays healthy and we're final 4 with ease

Again we will see. I dont see roy winning a ship with this team
The only thing stopping this team from winning a ship is whether or not Theo can play in the mode of a Jackie Manuel type player. We get that one perimeter defender role locked down and nobody is beating us. Perimeter shooting? Paige, Justin, Berry, Kenny.....and even big boy Maye got that locked. Big lineups? Meeks, Brice, Hicks, and James are there. Free throw woes? Paige, Britt, Justin, Berry, and Kenny got that. I literally don't see a weakness on the team other than Theo development as a perimeter defender.
We need a 2015-2016 thread. Some notes...

In a statement from the school, May said he has long been interested in college coaching. He said the job will help him "get started along that path at the place it all began for me" after playing professionally for a decade in the NBA and overseas.
Coach Roy Williams said May is "one of the smartest players I have ever coached" and that the job would give him the opportunity to learn from UNC's coaches.
May led the Tar Heels to the 2004-05 NCAA championship after averaging 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game in that season's tournament.

Interesting because that's EXACTLY what Roy told him and Tokoto didn't wanna hear it. He left because he wanted to do more than just be the defensive stopper/slasher.

kinda glad he left. opens up more minutes on the wing and there were whispers that he was a locker room problem
also seventh took a surprise visit for late night and cancelled his sc visit the next day hmmmmm
I don't know why, but I care too much about this particular recruiting battle. Maybe ever since watching his freshman highlight clip on Youtube and envisioning him in Carolina Blue for the last few years got me too invested in this one. I hope this kid doesn't hurt my soul....
