I was just telling my co-worker this. There are great coaches, great players, etc that have never been to a Final Four, let alone two. For Roy to lose two players with jerseys in the rafters and get this cast of characters back and win is mind boggling. Listening to that team down the road whine all year about injuries, etc made me appreciate how the narrative outta Chapel Hill was never about not having Theo for TWO stretches of the season and losing our opening night starting shooting guard for the season. It was never about relying on a preferred walk on for major minutes while others acted like relying on a former 5 star Burger Boy wasn't good enough to succeed. This team just went out there and got it done. One goal all season and accomplished it. I don't want to hear anymore about how having "one and done" players is the measurement of a coach or a program. All the negative recruiting UNC has had to endure and all the supposed accomplishments of that squad down the road, we're still the best program in college. Roy will never have the impact socially or may never be as innovative as Dean was/is, but its a testament that Roy has now become more accomplished than Dean. So fukking underrated. And stayed true to himself the entire way. He didn't sell his soul to the AAU culture like, once again, that bum ass squad down the road did. In an era of isolated entertainment and lack of connection with others, it's refreshing to see a program rooted in family, togetherness, and "old fashioned" principles prevail. I'm done with my emotional spewing.........fukk Dook!
that team last year was so much more talented than this one, but this team just had a different kinda heart, man. and that starts at the top from their leader. the last 4 games of this tourney roy has held teams that were more scrappy (arkansas), talented (kentucky), athletic (oregon), bigger (zags) to 5 minute scoring droughts down the stretch. the last two games in particular fts (the ones they made and we've missed) made the games much closer than they shoulda been. 3 years ago mofos swore because we didnt get down with the one and done culture we were going to be outta the championship picture for the foreseeable future. whatever, i'll roll with good talent that i know is gonna develop to contend every 3-4 years. roy is consistent as fuk. from the loss to wisconsin 2 years ago, to the championship game the last two, he's proved to be a great teacher. meanwhile, rat face be getting kicked out on opening weekend w/ top 5 picks and it dont matter? lmao. get this ghost in a shell ass rodent outta here.

stop being scared of niggs youve never seen play against comparable talent in a fukkin system.

i am so proud of this team. we gutted out 6 wins in ugly fashion. won a title with defense. didn't sell our souls to one and done kids and developed talent. fukk i am happy for kennedy. he carried us to a title. isaiah stepped up in the last 10 mins of his career. every single player on the team contributed to this run. developed a bench and it paid dividends

i can't wait to rewatch it all. love this fukking program

told yall nothing to worry about....ok, a lil to worry about, especially when everyone not named berry missing 3s, yet refusing to shoot anything else lol.....was an ugly game cause shots werent falling, but both teams were playing hard, and unc's defense was the deciding factor....they got that W/chip....hell yea!!!!!!....

as for who leaving/staying:

i think berry & bradley come back for sure...berry would be a 2nd rounder at best, so he might as well come back, do his senior tour, and try to improve his stock, i.e. like frank mason.....and while bradley may get looks cause of his size and potential, i see him coming back too cause 1 year of him getting a lot of burn will improve his stock a lot...he'll go higher next year than this year....

jj is the one i'm not sure about...while i think he would be a 1st rounder this year, the champ game hurt his stock...he seemed tight and like the lights were to bright...i think he should come back and ball his ass off next year, which would help his stock....

...now while i think they should stay, if they left, it'd be cool...they won the chip, and that's all that matters....they forever good in nc....unless they pull a mccants and do some dumb shyt to be excommunicated from the fam, smh.... anyway, lets celebrate this one people, it was well earned...

oh yea: meeks helped his stock like a muthafukka this tourney....he was balling his ass off and playing damn good d....

*toasts finest yac* with my fellow tarheel fans....'nothing finer, than to be in carolina in the, morn'in'....

If nothing else...this team has proven they can win ugly. Which is something we haven't been able to say for a while cause this tournament has been night and day compared to last years. If we defend on the perimeter like we have the last 3 games and the bigs stay outta foul trouble we'll be champions.

In the meantime I'll continue being miserable at work :mjcry:

Couldn't avoid foul issues but we damn sure locked up the perimeter and won an ugly one. Who would've ever thought a Roy Williams team would ride its defense to a title

If anyone is sure to leave, it's JJ. He had a terrible game shooting 3's but he still played great defensively.

He was ACC players of the year and an All-American this year. His stock won't get any higher.

low key if Tony and joel come back and we get Knox, we'll be favorites to repeat
that would be nice, but mofos already looking forward to next year is crazy. live in the moment! while i was tryna distract myself last night i was watching raw and old ass vince waddled himself out into that ring and a day after wrestlemania he said the show dont stop and went right into grind mode. thats cool because thats how he makes his money, but as a fan, i gotta have a release moment. i done been held hostage by this tourney for the last 2-3 weeks. i dont give a fuk bout nothin now but partyin.
