joel isnt leaving early
Intel or just your hunch? I think he will leave just cause he can, especially if he has another good tourney run.
Whether he leaves this year or next he'll be a second round pick.

If anything that might be a reason for him to leave, since he'll be a 2nd rounder at best anyway. These days, the longer you stay the worst your draft stock becomes...unfortunately.

That is a shame. Caleb Swanigan came back and is balling out....but then I hear these mock drafts with Harry Giles coming off the board before him. Odd.

can clinch a share of a 2nd straight acc regular season title today with a win

but but roy can't coach and k is running laps around him.

That's the nature of the beast now. The media has shifted the narrative surrounding NCAA basketball as a NBA minor league. Cal gets all this praise heaped on him for the amount of NBA talent to come thru there, but only has one chip to show for it. K's squads getting Nae Nae'd on, losing double digit games last year, or even having 8 Burger Boys on the squad this year while finishing possibly in the middle of the pack in the ACC (depending on the UM and FSU outcomes) gets ignored cause kids only stay there a couple months.

Despite the NCAA cloud, the second tier talent he's been getting, and playing in the gauntlet of the ACC, Roy has been coaching his ass off.

I'll usually be the last to give Roy credit for his coaching but you are dead ass here.

he's one kris jenkins shot away from having a much better last 5 years than k (duke tourney last 5 years: first round loss to a 15 seed, elite 8, first round loss to 14 seed, champs, sweet 16 vs unc: elite 8, second round, second round, sweet 16, national runners up). we've also won 3 regular season titles compared to their 0 (likely to be 3 sole possession titles as well). and he's done all this with a massive scandal hanging over his head and no one and dones while k is killing it in that capacity

and then this year, roy loses two of the best players in program history and is a title favorite yet again

but roy gets zero credit even from his own fan base while k is hyped up 24/7

we are so damn lucky to have him

seriously how absurd is it that we lose two of the best players to ever play at carolina in Marcus and Brice and are arguably better than last year when we came one shot short from winning it all

how many other coaches in america could do that? any?

the improvement of guys like kennedy and justin and joel and even luke maye is such a blast to watch

of course i want the one and dones like the rest of y'all but i feel like we're lucky to see guys come in shaky af (brice and marcus being prime examples) and just getting better and better. it's awesome

that's cause the magic word for the nba is 'potential'....they put more stock in what they think someone might become over what they've seen a player do...hence the reason ainge didnt trade those picks for butler or pg....it's dumb thinking, but it's what drives teams & fans when it comes to the league....

with them clinching at least a share of the acc today, i think that solidifies jj of getting at least a share of player of the year....if they win the title out right, he should win it out right....figured it was gonna come down to him, kennard, and maybe bacon, and what team won the acc....
