i made a bet last year with a buddy that seventh will never average as many points as dex's best season. really hope i am wrong but not feeling too nervous about that
the zion visit went really well. some excerpts from his post visit interview:
You sat beside Phil Ford at the Barton exhibition game. What's the connection, and what was the conversation like?
I kind of knew who he was because my stepdad talks about how good of a player he was, but this was my first time actually meeting him. He was just talking about the style of play at North Carolina. He was kind of breaking down the plays, and cracking some jokes about how the game was going and stuff like that. I wanted to wear the No. 12 jersey wherever I go to college. He made a joke about it, but I asked him, I said, 'If I do choose North Carolina will I be able to wear No. 12?' He said, 'Son, you can wear it. If you come to North Carolina, I'll climb up there myself and get it.'
How was the atmosphere at the game on Friday?
It was still great even though it was an exhibition game. A lot of fans out there supported. A lot of people knew who I was during the visit. Something that really caught me off guard was when I was walking beside Luke (Maye). People were asking me for a picture instead of him. I was like 'wow, this man basically helped y'all get to the national championship with that shot.' I'm thinking if that was me, I'd want to get a picture with Luke Maye first.
How did Theo Pinson do as your host for the weekend?
He's very funny, let me say that first. But Brandon Huffman has to be the funniest guy at North Carolina. He can make you laugh when you're having a serious moment. He's just so positive and so funny. Theo was telling me to enjoy my visits. He was saying how North Carolina would be a perfect fit for me, because everybody at North Carolina wants you to succeed.
Does it help North Carolina that it has so many people you know well or consider friends?
Nassir (Little) is my boy. He's always telling me how unstoppable we'd be if me and him were on the same team, and stuff like that. It's attractive to me because we're really good friends, and who wouldn't want to play with a good friend in college. I'm good friends with all of them (Rechon "Leaky" Black, Coby White, Nassir Little) and you want to play with people you're cool with.
How would you compare the North Carolina official visit to the other three you've taken?
All the visits are sort of the same, but each visit has different things that stand out about that school. At North Carolina, the players stood out. The players were just so like welcoming. The other schools, when I went there, I got to talk to a few players, but not all of them. At UNC, I got to talk to all of them. They were just so welcoming. They were telling me how North Carolina was perfect for them and how it would be perfect for me too.
For a while, it didn't seem like you were seriously considering North Carolina anymore. What changed?
They've always been there (on my list). One reason you probably thought I wasn't considering them is the media. The media asks me about schools who they think I should be interested in. They don't ever ask me my opinion. It's just always 'Zion, what do you think about this school?'
What's the next step for your recruitment?
Right now, I'm just getting ready for the season, and basketball season starts tomorrow. For the (fifth official visit) visit, if I have to take it I will, but I don't think I will.
Did this visit improve North Carolina's chances of signing you?
They did very well. Very well.
i think we get him

I'm glad he enjoyed himself. It seems like the "check already cleared" with all that adidas gear my man was rocking though. Seems like a UK vs KU battle.
its us or clemson. probably a coin flip at this point
