this main event got me in a bind. . .gus been my lhw prospect since he crushed hamill but the chance to see johnson put paws on jones (win or lose) would be epic!

Akira Corsanni vs Sam Scillia- Both guys need a win. Akira has been fighting some beast in Poirer/Holloway so his losses are expected. Hes a good fighter tho. Scillia is just not good imo. Akira UD

Phil Davis vs Ryan Bader- I think Bader is finally coming into his prime as a wrestling with decent boxing. His striking is much more technical and proficient instead of that rushing berzerker style trying to land the right that got him flatlined against Machida. Davis, despite beating Glover, has not progressed at all. Striking is still awkward and slow. His transition of clinch to TD wont be effective like it was against lower competition/unmotivated Glover. I think Bader takes this by UD if he can maintain sepatation and light Davis up with his boxing ala Rumble

Gregard Moussasi vs Dan Henderson- Well, at least Hendo isn't matched up against someone who will wrestle fukk him or KO him. But its still a bad matchup. Hendo only hope is the H bomb and Moose has an almost God like chin. Moose is pretty good at maintaining range with his jab and has good striking defense. Moussai UD

Anthony Johnson vs Alexander Gusstaffson- Very hard fight to choose. I kind of hate that the only two possible contenders are facing each other. Rumble has look like a beast since fighting at 205lb and training with Henry Hoft and the BZ. His style looks almost George Foreman/Tyson esque where he parries strikes and baits guys into counters. But the thing is, Gus footwork will allow him to slip those counters. Even tho Gus is pretty hittable as Shogun/Manuwa landed cleanly on him, his chin is also very good(probably the best in the entire UFC) Hes probably the one LHW who can survive Rumble's punches. Plus, he has a cardio edge over Rumble. Rumble was pretty gassed in those later rounds against Pitbull. Johnson is going to land some clean counters on Gus. But I think Gus jab, volume, footwork/angles will be more consistent over 5 rounds. Gus UD

I saw Gus eat a few clean hooks from Shogun in their fight that would have slept most guys. I think Diabate landed 5-6 straight punches on Gus and he walked through them. Same with Silva, Manuwa, etc. Who else is touching him in the chin department outside JDS?

Gus has been hit, but (from what I remember) not with a clean & very powerful shot. His chin has not been truly tested imo I would take a lot of fighter's chins over Gus. Rampage, Diego, JDS, Big Country, Mousasi, Hunt, prime Hendo, BJ, prime Shogun, & Condit, off the top of my head.

Gus gets hit cleanly in almost every fight. Hes gotten better but his defense is still average. But hes never truly been stunned or rocked with a clean shot on the chin. All those guys you've listed have been at one point. (except Condit. Cant recall him being woobly)

That Thiago shot was not clean, it was more of a glancing blow. The Diabete punches were not power shots imo. Wait why are we talking about BJ and others? I never said best of all time. But currently he has the best chin outside Condit/JDS. Mousasi has much better defense then those guys mentioned. I've never seen him get hit flush outside Lombard. But he usually doesn't give fighters the opportunity to hit him

Machida hit Moose cleanly a few times. Right now, I would take definitely take Mousasi, JDS, Condit, and Big Country (took brutal beatings from the hands of JDS and [to a lesser extent] Werdum). Like I said, Gus's chin has not truly been put to the test.

Did you not see those overhands Shogun was hitting him with. Those shots would have put down half the LHW division. Even Dan got rocked by those.

Outside of Moose, I've never seen Gus really hurt/dropped/etc. All those other guys have.
