Wasn't even that that caught my attention, though. @The G.O.D II nailed it: Conor just moves forward while engaging his showboating act, which distracts from the fact that he either chooses not to, or doesn't know how to, fight defensively. He lets himself get tagged for no good reason, doesn't circle, pivot out or anything like that. That might work against run of the mill card fillers, but won't get him anywhere against Aldo or the other top tier featherweights (man, I WISH they would make a McGregor/Mendes fight. The comedy potential there is kind of endless).

He isn't Lyoto Machida, he isn't Chris Weidman, he isn't any of that. Until further notice, he's just Chael Sonnen 2.0: there to draw a house and nothing more.

Again, if a Diaz brother did what Conor just did there, the commentators would be horrified. But because it's the golden boy, they love it. The hypocrisy is actually kind of disgusting.

Conor did what he should have done with a guy he has two inches of height and four inches of reach on. Still don't think he belongs in a match with Aldo, but his striking skill is unimpeachable.

Have you seen some of his other fights? porier was tagging him quite alot I can only imagine what aldo does. And you need to stop it with all this revisionist stuff about the diaz's. There has been a separate set of rules applied to them and everyone else for the longest time. Because example was dana's reply when asked about the cbs melee, dude is one of their chief enablers and to a lot of fans the diaz's can do no wrong. Perhaps you typed diaz but meant _____ (fill that blank with any black fighter)

And that his post fight antics takes away from his win. Just imagine the talk that anderson should be suspended and fined for abu dhabi or that jones should be stripped of his title for testing positive for coke in OUT OF COMPETITION tests, just insane

They definitely should have and could be doing more. I have to give props to McGregor though, he came into the UFC talking shyt and forced everyone to take notice. Few people in the UFC have the personality like his that is easy to market.

You left out the most important factor that makes this all possible, hes white.Hes actually not that good of a hype man on the mic, he makes for a better interview tho

connor's "defense" looks pretty similar to what anderson's was. reflexes, head movement/lateral movement, getting in and out at the just the right range...and like anderson, even when he gets tagged, he eats it like it's nothing.

That last sentence is interesting. He looked like he had a bad weight cut. Looked drawn out and gaunt even during the fight. Should be an interesting note going forward

par for the course since 2014 and the streak seems to have carried over.2 shows for 2015 and they've basically been boxing cards = air of filler until the main event. Even the co-mainevent for this and 182 which had supposed fan friendly cer-ron-nee was listless. I wonder if dana has stopped his pre show speeches or if morale is just low due to the looming reebook deal
