Shutdown the country, bankroll unemployment and send out a stim check, maybe two or three. They would also encourage mask wearing and likely fine those that go out in public without it. The Dem president would then listen to experts on viruses for how to best contain the spread while safely testing the populace

Locked down for 2 months, said the virus would go away on its own, called it the greatest hoax ever, encouraged people to protest lockdowns while scoffing at wearing a mask. The Trump president then peddled miracle cures while demanding business open up and would later go on to force schools to open up before eventually giving up on caring about corona because it doesn't give him the attention or validation (sound familiar?) he craves. But yea, I'm sure the difference in deaths were negligible

Its already come out DeSantis is suppressing the numbers and its already been said Floridas numbers are 6 weeks behind what they show. No, they wouldn't. Most of the bad behavior being exhibited during the backlash to lockdowns, masks, etc. emanated from misinformation flowing directly from the White House.

People do take their cues from their leaders either actively or subliminally.

If the government response had provided aid, been straightforward with the American people, and rolled out an actual plan it would've changed things.

I'm not saying the threat would've been eliminated but more than a few thousand people would still be living with proper response and messaging.
