But the accusations could complicate the case considerably. In a letter to Ms. Willis on Friday, the Fulton County commissioner who chairs an audit committee demanded documents in an effort to determine whether county funds paid to Mr. Wade “were converted to your personal gain in the form of subsidized travel or other gifts.”
Mr. Wade has been paid $250 an hour for his work on the case, earning more than $650,000 so far. Mr. Roman’s lawyer has raised questions about any trips that Mr. Wade paid for and took with Ms. Willis, as county officials are prohibited from receiving anything of value from people doing business with the county.

The most immediate challenge to the Trump case, though, is that the presiding judge, Scott McAfee of Fulton County Superior Court, will have to rule on Mr. Roman’s motion to disqualify Ms. Willis. Theoretically, he could disqualify not only Ms. Willis but also her entire office.

Clark D. Cunningham, a law professor at Georgia State University, said the latter outcome would be “a disaster for the case, an absolute disaster.”
“Everything is put on hold because there are no attorneys left,” he said.
Though the case could then be assigned to another district attorney in Georgia, that process can stretch on for years. In July 2022, Ms. Willis was disqualified from developing a criminal case against Burt Jones, now Georgia’s lieutenant governor, as part of the Trump prosecution, because of a conflict of interest. A year and a half later, no replacement prosecutor has been named

Say it with me. There are other special prosecutors with the exact same salary. He wasn’t her first choice, and she had to go with him after people turn her down. And we’re talking about what $600-$700 in plane tickets. That’s the dollar amount of “kickbacks” we’re talking about.

It's not the amount. It's that it happened and she potentially benefitted from it which would be illegal. You can't say you stand against corruption and inter office relationships and then get caught in the very thing you railed against. Especially in a deep state ran by republicans for the guy you indicted. The fact that Wade has refused to share financial documents and held in contempt for it makes it look even worse

FOX 5 reached out to a spokesperson for Willis regarding Friday's newly filed court documents but declined to comment. However, on Sunday, Willis defended her appointment of Wade to the high-profile case. "I appointed three special counsels as is my right to do. Paid them all the same hourly rate. They only attack one," Willis stated publicly.

....

FOX 5 obtained the employment contracts between Willis’ office and the three special prosecutors which show that statement to be inaccurate.

In both of Wade’s two agreements, one ended in May 2023 and the other in December 2023, he commanded $250 per hour.

Documents show that Anna Cross also made $250 per hour, but John Floyd was compensated much lower in both of his agreements. In one contract, he made $150 per hour. That amount increased to $200 per hour for his second term.

Skepticism has surrounded the pay due to Floyd's reputation of being a renowned expert in RICO cases.

She paid the guy with the least of amount of experience the most $ :stopitslime:

The amount matters because of the accusations. The accusation is for her personal benefit. The benefit is a trip to Miami and SF? Out of 650k. She went through all this trouble for that? Does that make sense?

And the inter office stuff? Prosecutors fukk all the time. Rarely ever relevant to the case.

Don’t forget a stay at the Double Tree in Napa and a $2600 world class cruise aboard the fabulous Royal Caribbean. :heh:

They were living high on the hog off the government teet.

Why should he have to step down? What has he done wrong legally or ethically? He’s a single man. She’s a single woman. They both work for the same side. What’s the issue here?

Y’all gotta stop wetting yourselves anytime the right wing trots out some bullshyt like this.

I don't know shyt of what he did or did not...his divorce is causing a distraction to the case; he needs to handle that now cause his ex is compromised....I need this shyt to keep pushing.

anyways....:comeon:

people commenting on the flights and cruises as if the man's only income and job ever was when he was assigned as a special prosecutor....and he charged it on an AMEX :mjlol:

This is just right wing noise. This is what they do and the mainstream media falls for it every time. It pisses me off because they rile people up by giving utter nonsense credibility.

This is the kind of horse shyt that should be rightfully mocked by any media doing its job and not looking for sensationalism coverage, But it involves sex so of course they are going to cover it tabloid style. It’s disgusting.
