They are highly educated lawyers so I'm hopeful they realize that helping Trump wouldn't be in their best interest in this case. They've already got the lifetime appointment and everything else they want.

Judge Orders Immediate Enforcement of Georgia Election Workers’ $146 Million Verdict Against Giuliani

Wednesday's decision cited Giuliani's history as an 'uncooperative litigant,' his mounting debts from other cases, and concerns that he will 'conceal his assets'

Judge Orders Immediate Enforcement of Georgia Election Workers’ $146 Million Verdict Against Giuliani

Judge Orders Immediate Enforcement of Georgia Election Workers’ $146 Million Verdict Against Giuliani

Former Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss won their bid Wednesday night to immediately enforce a $146 million judgment against Rudy Giuliani.

In the new filing, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell, a Barack Obama appointee, lifted an automatic stay of 30 days she'd imposed on the verdict that allows Freeman and Moss to try to seek the money Giuliani owes them.

Howell cites Giuliani's history as an "uncooperative litigant," his mounting debts from other court cases, and concerns that he will "conceal his assets" within the 30-day period as reasons to justify ordering the ending of the automatic stay.

The federal judge found that Moss and Freeman “correctly explain” that Giuliani has “proven himself to be an unwilling and uncooperative litigant.”

Howell also said that the former New York mayor's failure to “satisfy even more modest monetary awards entered earlier in this case” provides good cause to believe that he will seek to dissipate or conceal his assets during the 30-day period…”

Despite Giuliani saying “there is no evidence in the record of any attempt by [him] to dissipate assets,” Howell found that his comments ignore his history of attempting to conceal and hide his assets by “failing to comply with discovery requests, including “plaintiffs’ requests for financial information.”

Moss and Freeman requested the 30-day period be dissolved for several reasons, citing that Giuliani “has demonstrated an unwillingness to comply with judicial process, including orders to pay attorney’s fees and costs,” and “appears to have no assets in the District of Columbia but substantial assets in—at least—both New York and Florida.”

They added that because he ignored “several prior court orders to reimburse attorney’s fees,” his conduct in the matter “presents “a substantial risk” that “Giuliani will find a way to dissipate those assets before Plaintiffs are able to recover.”

The filing comes shortly after a D.C. jury awarded more than $16 million in compensatory damages, $20 million for intentional infliction of emotional distress and another $75 million in punitive damages to the mother and daughter after Giuliani spread lies about the duo that they committed election fraud and inserted a USB drive into voting machines.

Earlier this week, the parties agreed to lower the amount of compensatory damages that Giuliani owes by more than $2 million, bringing the total to $145,969,000, plus post-judgment interest and costs.

Freeman and Moss sued Giuliani again on Monday, this time seeking to "permanently bar" him from "persisting in his defamatory campaign against the plaintiffs."

I was honestly shocked that so many people were tip toeing about him breaking the 14th Amendment when he clearly did. What happen in Colorado needed to happen to drive home the point. He tried to deny the peaceful transfer of power. This is against 250 Year American Tradition. He told them to march on the Capitol. We all saw the speech. They called for the Death of the Vice President during the Transfer of Power. This was an insurrection. By rule of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment that would make him ineligible to run for President. Look, I believe he will still get the nomination because they've already bent the knee to their overload. With that said, I believe more States will bring this up again. This is about principle.

You can't be a part of an insurrection on the Capitol during the certification of the Presidency without consequences. Once Jan 6 happens all legal challenges are over. You had your chance to voice your view. You Lost. It was over. But he couldn't take that blow out L he just took. After Jan 6, two Weeks Later the President is sworn in. So they attacked on that date with the purpose to delay the Transfer of Power. This is also treason against the United States by trying to slow or stop the certification. (Which they did, they had to come back hours later in the middle of the night to complete it). Therefor by rule of the constitution, Trump technically should not be able to run for President. But we all know he is because our Country will not hold him accountable.. This thread is crazy, so many twist and turns.

McConnell invokes his wife’s name to slam Trump’s controversial immigrant remarks

BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 12/19/23 3:36 PM ET

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday slapped down former President Trump’s statement that immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country” by pointing out Trump appointed his wife, Elaine Chao, who is Taiwanese American, to serve as secretary of Transportation in 2016.

Asked about Trump’s controversial comments, which have drawn comparison to Nazi rhetoric before and during World War II, McConnell pointed out the hypocrisy of the remarks.

“It strikes me that didn’t bother him when he appointed Elaine Chao the secretary of Transportation,” he said.

Chao also served in former President George W. Bush’s Cabinet as secretary of Labor, becoming the first Asian Pacific American woman to serve in a presidential Cabinet.

McConnell has rarely commented on Trump’s incendiary and provocative statements this year, usually telling reporters he’s staying out of 2024 Republican presidential primary politics.

But Trump’s inflammatory comments about immigrants “poisoning” the nation’s “blood” have crossed the line with many Republicans.

The former president has previously used derogatory language to talk about Chao, who has been married to McConnell for 30 years.

He disparaged her as “China-loving” and “Coco Chow” in a Truth Social post in 2022, which Marc Short, a former Trump administration official and senior adviser to former Vice President Mike Pence, at the time called “a racial slur” and “obviously wrong.”

Other Senate Republicans have recoiled at Trump’s racially-charged language that immigrants are poisoning the country’s blood.

“My grandfather was an immigrant, so I don’t agree with that sentiment,” said Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.).

Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), a member of McConnell’s leadership team, called Trump’s comments “unhelpful rhetoric.”

But Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R), one of Trump’s staunchest Senate allies, defended the former president’s language.

Tuberville said he was “mad” that Trump “wasn’t tougher than that.”

“Because have you seen what’s happening at the border? We’re being overrun,” he said. “So a little bit disappointed it wasn’t tougher.”
