Someone explained to me that the Olympic Committee want to have 25 core sports and then let the host country pick sports they want to add that have some worldwide appeal but not in the core.
Japan chose baseball, softball and karate. France chose breakdancing.
Pretty sure we’ll bring back baseball/softball for 2028.
