Wrestling too....or was that during basketball?

Every varsity football player did either hoops, track, soccer, baseball or wrestling. Some did 2 extra sports.

IIRC wrestling was only in certain school districts when I was in high school, mine wasn't one of them that had it.

You had football, volleyball & cross country (which I forgot in my initial post) in the fall, basketball in the winter/spring, baseball/track/soccer in the spring. I feel like we had swim team too but I couldn't tell you when their season was :skip:

The dual sport athletes for the boys usually played football and one of basketball/baseball/track/soccer. There might have been like 1 or 2 that did football, basketball & track.

Yeah we had swim team too but NO ONE remembers anything they did unless they won a meet. Gymnastics was in there but definitely under the radar.

Wrestling had the hardest practices by far...running with bowling pins in each hand up and down all the stairs and through every hallway in the school for like 30 minutes......just to warm up for actual practice :russ:.

Cross country, everyone ran 5 to 8 miles as a group in the neighborhoods near school and they all started at 5 or 6 AM.

Soccer, actually tried out for them just because my friends (real soccer players) were like "breh, you gotta join us." Coach had us doing "25" for like 45 minutes after practice. Basically run shuttles/yo-yos from the end-line up to midfield on the pitch....then when you get back it was either 25 push ups, 25 sit-ups or 25 burpees....and Coach loved those damn burpees. Then immediately back to the shuttles/yoyos when your partner finished their sprints.

That Ugandan chick clearly preserved her energy to make her big run during that last lap in the steeplechase....to win the Gold.

East Africans are big on the late race kick. Americans try that shyt but we never have that extra energy to pull it off. If we try to lead from the front, we stay getting run down.

USA got an easier draw to head to the Finals

France or Slovenia would have been tougher for them in the Semis
