Chase was a star volleyball player in high school though. I imagine if you hadn't played before there would be a long learning curve, probably have to commit years to the sport before you even thought about the pro level.
It would be interesting to see more ballers start playing volleyball in high school as an off-season sport. My school didn't even have a boys volleyball team.
Yeah I think some people underestimate the difficulty of picking up a new sport and mastering it at the pro level. Reminds me of those that think NFL players could easily transition to rugby.
But as far as the second point, I can't speak for other places but for public schools in Texas there was no boys volleyball. At that point of the school year there were two sports: football for the boys and volleyball for the girls.
