I don’t get why these hurdles runners who just got gold and silver just don’t run the 400 straight up and dominate

I was gonna say that, Scandinavian education systems are really big about being bilingual (immersive, not just a couple courses) and most of them choose English as the 2nd language. Nowadays its mostly just the older Scandinavians who struggle with English.

Timing of the events you could only choose one.
And not everyone is great like Gail devers at both.

Something went wrong with prep for this Olympics. Hopefully it will be investigated. If America is beaten at their best that's one thing, but they have clearly been underperforming. Whether that's mental, physical or the environment needs to be figured out.
