You are not a guard, you are taller than everyone else. Shooting closer to the basket usually yields better results and gives you a greater chance at getting your own rebound. Plus, if you master the game down low on the block you will help the other small players get open so that they can jack up a shot.
I will never understand what is going on with these big dudes wanting to play like guards. Anthony Davis is a freak of nature and I like how efficient he is, but he is the one exception to the rule. I simply cannot figure that guy out, what he is doing doesn't make sense traditionally.
