Fans are apparently more excited to see Thor and Hulk reunite on a distant planet than they are to watch Batman and Wonder Woman assemble the Justice League.
In a survey conducted by Fandango, Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok emerged as the most-anticipated movie of the fall, ahead of Warner Bros.’ Justice League.
Director Taika Waititi’s film sees Marvel’s god of thunder also team with Valkyrie and Loki in a bid to stop Hela from destroying Asgard. It comes in ahead of Justice League, which unites the key players of the DC Extended Universe against the forces of Apokolips. The top five, as selected by 1,000 movie fans, is rounded out by Blade Runner 2049 (arriving Oct. 6), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (Sept. 22) and It (Friday).
Thor: Ragnarok also bested Justice League in the most-anticipated actor category, with Chris Hemsworth topping the list, followed by Heimdall actor Idris Elba at third; Ben Affleck, who reprises his role as Batman in Justice League, came in at No. 5. The DCEU fared better in the actress category, however, with Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot leading the list, followed by Thor: Ragnarok actress Cate Blanchett, who plays Hela, at No. 2.
