If that was the final scene in any show viewed with todays eyes it would’ve got shytted on bad. In fact every comment in the film room would been about how horrible season 5 was. And don’t get me started on Omar’s death.

The end showed how everyone switched roles.

S1, 3 and 4 are easily the best seasons…some appreciated S2 off the bat, others in hindsight…S5 was a weird season…not bad but arguably not as good as the other seasons

I can agree with this, its much tighter with the writing but not as realistic

Top Boy feels more realistic and more gritty than The Wire. It also has better wardrobing and production value although it benefits from its time there. It's also more true to the culture of its location than The Wire is too.

The Wire's advantage is that its a show that by season shows the corruption of a city from every level. Streets, docks, schools, politics, journalism, police. I don't feel its a "realistic" show though.
