This Fukshyt- oh look- another black trauma porn movie. Not even bothering to watch or have any interest in. All that I had to see was that none of those lead actors were black Americans - tells me all that I needed to know. Slavery role after slavery role. No type of authenticity. The fact that this thread is stickied for what? The fact that it’s stickied and didn’t even break more than 2 pages. We are tired of this shyt!!!! Black people were more than slaves; there’s more slave movies and white savior movies than black heroes and historians. fuk this Hollywood shuffle profit for propaganda machine.
I know exactly what you mean.shyt is like.....idk
I can’t put my finger on it
This definitely ain’t meant to be binged
If you’re looking for something to watch other than this slave drama trauma porn b.s. created for white people by white people or the Upshaw c00ning and bafooning- add this to your repertoire.
@til november you dapped this cac?? Letting white people tell us what our viewing habits should beGuys, they leave the plantation after the first episode. Y'all are overreacting like shyt.
I read the novel 2-3 years ago, I knew the show would get off the ground after the (admittedly rough) 1st episode. Barry is really the only director who could've done this story justice. He's got the visual know how to make it look gorgeous in parts, and he's got the sensibility not to let the trauma define the main characters.
More heart and toughness = more white players
@ECA @til november @Brer Dog beware of these white film commentaries hiding in plain sight. If it’s a slave movie - guaranteed they flood these threads. FYIGuys, they leave the plantation after the first episode. Y'all are overreacting like shyt.

White folks dominating, that's that Minnesota....
The white QB doesn't need saving.
1 star thread.
They ain't the type of white chicks that hang out with people of color tho. Lily white chicks who grew up in lily white neighborhoods and went to lily white liberal arts colleges.
I didn’t know he was a cac@til november you dapped this cac?? Letting white people tell us what our viewing habits should be
I know as soon as this poster said “guys, they left the plantation...” that he wasn’t black
