I know better than to get into it with you about The LeftoversI turned my nose up at the bullshyt The Leftovers pulled, and still can't believe how many folks willingly fell for that okey-doke.
This show suffered where it annulled its own spell, while simultaneously kept trying to tell us how special it was. We didn't need to have any exposition; it just needed to create a narrative where we actually believed it enough to warrant the suspension of disbelief.
But my gripe with this show is that exposition is all we got about Osea. "It's special" ad nauseum. As goes Osea, goes the world. Cool, give us examples. I felt there was an opportunity to do something with the son/fakes son, and thought they touched on it with him saying what he did about his mom not meaning the last words she said to him. I enjoyed the show, but understand its superficiality based on who made it. Utopia had similar issues to me.
