Cas Anvar won’t return as Alex Kamal The Expanse season 6 following an investigation into a series of allegations of sexual harassment and assault levied against him this summer. The Expanse season 5 returns in December 2020 - its second season on Amazon following the show’s cancellation on SyFy after season 3. Although there's plenty of story left to tell, The Expanse will end after season 6, and it will have to do so without a core cast member who's been with the series since the beginning.
The Expanse has been praised for its diversity and inclusivity throughout its run, as well as for its effective blend of compelling sci-fi storytelling and layered, contemporary sociopolitical themes. For the past several years, fans of the genre have celebrated the show as one of the modern era’s premier series. Since the show’s beginning, Anvar's Alex has been a core character, piloting the Canterbury and later the Rocinante.
Despite that status, Alex won’t be back for the show’s last season, and for good reason. A series of sexual misconduct allegations against Anvar began in summer 2020 after season 5 wrapped production, prompting Alcon Entertainment to launch an investigation through an independent company. That investigation has concluded with the ousting of Anvar, whose alleged behavior stands in stark contrast to the values and themes the show has promoted throughout its duration, and which many fans have praised it for.
The accusations levied against Anvar largely revolved around his presence at various sci-fi and fan conventions. Multiple women came forward with personal accounts of meeting Anvar as fans, and being ceaselessly harassed by him in person and through direct messages afterwards. The allegations claim that he aggressively pushed for sexual encounters, and that he berated women who refused to meet up with him. There are also claims of assault against Anvar from women who did meet up with him in person. Many of these accusations were supported by transcripts and screenshots of conversations where Anvar solicited and insulted the women in question.

He has a whole family in the show so easy to write him off, or they just kill him in S5.
I hear he has less focus in the later books so it could be an easy thing to bush him or make it so he went back to his fam.
Dude would have fukked the whole program up if he was a main and a favorite.
The book this season is based on, Alex is mostly off the board. They could easily have him die or just not come back to the Roci crew a replace him w another pilot.

I be looking for that kind of participation with new shows
If you like sci-fi, you should be in on this. First season of Expanse was seen as dry by some but stick with it and you'll be rewarded. There was a massive campaign that saved the show from cancellation a couple of years ago. Mid shows don't get that kind of love.
it takes a few episodes to get into, but it really picks up about half way through season 1 if you like sci fi.

Him and Cass Anver are both Iranian dudes from Canada so they probably are always being up for the same role anyway.
It would be a shame to lose the character especially if he doesn't get a send off and instead hsi absence is explained by a line abut him going home to his family.
