yeah i dont think you ever supposed to really root for butcher. He's always been full of piss and vinegar like Mallory said. A great foil for Homelander too because homelander is broken because he got no love or affection, butcher had a terrible father and just when his life was going straight homelander took it all away.

Yeah the comic books come off as a lot time or really the whole run as super edged and try hard there is some good social commentary in the books but alot of it get ruining by Garth Ennis really apparent hard on against superheroes as well his frat boy edge lord humor
They seem to be changing the story around. Homelander is way too messed up already for it not to be the case.

A show for the times.Garth Ennis is at his worst when he's not working at the big houses (with some exceptions like Preacher).
