homelander was really a fukked up head case...a couple of points/questions from the show...

1. being raised in a lab he had no parents so it seems like he viewed the lab dude as his “dad” and his boss as his “mom” in some twisted way

2. if that’s the case he had some real weird ass faux oedipus complex shyt going w/ his “mom” and “dad”

3. was his disdain for the baby some warped sense of sibling rivalry?

4. did he only save butcher and not the baby?

Just finished the series :wow:, a question about the ending

It's implied that Homelander didn't rape Becca right? Homelander is still a monster, but the way he reacted to Billy wasn't in a way that seemed like he knew why he would be upset and come after the Seven. Plus the direction of the final couple scenes seemed to hint at that.

homelander was jealous that the baby had someone who genuinely loved him, compared to being raised in an armored room

whether or not if the butcher is dreaming, its safe to say baby stillwell is dead. the way she was panicking in deep concern over him is probably what pushed homelander to kill her, and if he killed her, theres no way hes gonna let the baby live

the boys is good, but theres certain liberties that i dont care for. mothers milks backstory is one. its so fukked and really shows how heartless vought is. theres also butcher being a regular human. hes scary now, but hes an imposing monster in the comics. like if youre a cape dont walk near his ass. at the same time, theres a few things i hope that rogen nd goldberg have the common sense not to put on tv

Herogasm?:mjlol:

Also it doesn’t look like black Noir is who he is meant to be judging by that fight scene. If they have changed that I won’t be happy at all.

I read that he does in fact do it in the comics, but it seems like the show might have changed that. Went through the thread and saw a few others had that implication he possibly didn't in the show, but :patrice:. I guess we will found out for sure in Season 2.

....all i will say is that if you want some insight on where the plot could go, you should read the comic....

Could never get into this comic, i think it was mainly the art that didn't do it for me

the cover art was/is garbage.

glad i left comics alone.
after they hit the what if chuckie from fresh wrote for everyone ideal in real continuity of every comic.

not even sure i could pencil a comic.
with how stoopid the stories and continuity is of every book made after 1996.

go to college.

get a real career.
it pays more than comics and sitting at an easel all day.

do comics in your fifties when you have time for an easel.

excelsior!

I’m trying to reread the series and I’m turned off by the art and simple writing...but it’s not just this comic tho...I’ve felt that way about comic books these last few years even tho I grew up on comics...w/ the exception of ‘the walking dead’ I think it’s safe to say that comic book movies and TV shows have surpassed their source material...‘the boys’ comic isn’t as good as I remembered it to be now that I’m reading it...the TV show is more enjoyable imo even w/ the changes they made...I’m still gonna skim thru the comics tho just to refresh my memory and get an idea of where they might be going w/ season 2

actually, since comics have all become in general.
a what if fill in the blank style motif.
applied to,...in this case.

what if,___________.

in this case the boys is what if.
garth Ennis wrote the watchman with vertigo style art like his dc books.

dc only works in this art house vertigo fron because dc the main hub is just an art house. to churn out previous published ideas for later films strictly.
marvel since 1996 seems to be this way as well.

image imo was created to make properties for creators.
yet in that the idea was b*stardized again by the larger art houses.

those being actual warner and disney.
since they now own marvel and dc respectfully.
with this art house mass production ideal and direction in mind for decades now.
