I was so hyped at the end of the JL movie for that cameo... WHY shelve the idea why not incorporate the idea???

The head of Warner Bros. said making DC a connected universe is no longer a priority. If Reeves isn't into what was at the end of JL ain't no one going to force him to do it.

Warners said their new strategy is to focus less on some interlocking narrative and just tell the stories the filmmakers want to tell. So your mileage on that may vary

They reference JL a bit in Aquaman but they not gonna overdo it especially considering Wan hated what Whedon did with the character.
