I'll wait and see. People talked trash about Heath Ledger when he was cast as The Joker and he killed the role.
'The Batman': Robert Pattinson to Play Caped Crusader for Matt Reeves
Collider’s sources say the role is his if he wants it. Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor Johnson, and Arnie Hammer are who they’ll go to if Pattinson can’t strike a deal with the studio.
I’d prefer Arnie myself
Pattinson is a bolder choice and I appreciate that because if this movie is gonna work they need to go in some newer directions with the character. Personally I'm a little tired of the typical Batman we've been getting across all mediums since Nolan. I want to see some fresher takes. It's time to evolve past the Frank Miller aesthetic just a little bit (which Nolan accomplished to some degree). Not to say a 180 is in order, but nobody cares about Batman like that right now because the bar is Marvel and its now iconic characters.

Dude is young so he can be in for the long haul. Hopefully we get new villains this time instead of Joker, Two-Face, etc.
