Its about time. He's been looking at sketch artist drawings of Phil's wigs for years by now, yet never suspecting anything.
Yea I need them to correct the balance on this show. After the first episode it doesn't look like they will.
We got Liz escaping two FBI agents, including the head of the FBI division of the area. Dude should be fired.
And someone remind me, he didn't run into Liz at Stans house party?
Phil walking right in and is about to flip the guy without much resistance at all.
Liz losing the list yet it appearing they will be able to recover it again later in the season.
All the wins on one side takes away from the show for me.

Phil seemed a little relieved to be rid of one extra complication in his life.

She was one of Phil's assests. Last season he convinced her to target Yusef and start a relationship with him in order to get intel for the KGB. When they met in the car, she revealed to Phillip that she was starting to develop real feelings for him and might be in love. After he said he could get an apartment for her, she started to reveal who she really was hoping he loved her.
Instead he freaked out and you saw what happened.
But, Phil kinda walked her into that one, or no? He knew she was getting compromised, and probably decided to bet that dude would not forgive her for her transgressions, and he could use the fallout as leverage? He didn't just let her say 'I think I am in love with the mark' and let her slide…..at least i don't think so. Phil knew she was finished, after they slept together. It's a cold game.

I read the scene as him capitalizing on a bad situation, once he saw that she was dead he decided to use it as an opportunity to keep pumping him for intel. She was the one who whispered to Yusef and Phil didn't seem to know what was going on until the lamp broke and he heard better. You're right in the fact that he probably could feel she was slipping though.
