those scenes with the old lady were almost hard for me to watch ... when she realizes shes gonna die, I had some serious feelings about my own mortality and of the people close to me

i dunno if it was because i was baked as fukk, but that shyt really unnerved me for a bit

i had to pause it and take a quick :whew: and finish off the episode

great stuff

GoT is the best show on TV to me and
BB before that. I don't even watch Mad Men.

No love for this episode ? shyt was epic !

Liz is a true fanatic, an extremist. There really are showing how people with good intention (Liz) can turn into demons.

Phil on the other hand is just a regular guy with love for his family.

That lats scene :banderas:

Phil loves his family (including Liz) more than the cause.

Liz loves loves her cause more than her family. She's a cold bytch.

The show is going for Mad Men throne.
That scene actually humanized Liz for the first time in a while for me. She didn't want to kill that old lady. Phil has always been painted as the soft one, but one of the many great things that scene did was show Phil straight up :yeshrug:ing when Liz made her plea for the woman's life. "Wrong place, wrong time":wow:And I don't think it's a case of either one loving the cause or their families more. Liz loves the cause. She feels it's a righteous one that will benefit the world. What better thing than to raise her child within that cause? Or atleast open her child's eyes to who she really is and where she comes from? She and Phil were raised hard, raised working. She doesn't want her kids being raised soft. She doesn't want her kids being raised with American ideals. Phil loves the cause too. He left the love of his life for the cause. He had sex with fat sweaty men for the cause:scust:He isn't soft, but realizes his children at this point probably are from being raised in a life of relative luxury. He doesn't think the cause is something they can fight for and live through. He's being protective while Liz is being optimistic. They're both doing what they think is best for their kids.:manny:

I don't think anyone think Phil is soft. He's clearly the top goon of the show.

But he's more loyal to his family than anything else.

In the first episode of the show, he was ready to sold out, not because he's a traitor but because he thought it was the best thing for his family.

Liz is a good hearted fanatic: the cause comes before anything. Phil will derail the operation to save Liz; I don't think Liz will do the same, although she loves him. Liz is more idealistic than Phil. She's almost an utopist.

It's a beautiful thing but it can also leads to evil. That's why the show is so powerful: it shows you that Liz is good person (she's really against oppression, racism, etc.) but these good intentions turned her into a cold killer.

The evolution of her feeling will be interesting; that's why we need at least 2 more seasons.

When the old lady was dying, gasping for breath, I felt like I had trouble breathing.

Maybe deep inside, Lay It Down Liz wanted to kill the old lady cuz those family stories were somehow getting to her. When Liz told her she was Russian, they both knew the old lady was gonna die, but Liz didn't have to tell her she was Russian. Liz lies all the time, 80% of her life is a lie. Lay It Down Liz could hav easily told her that her moms lived somewhere else, but she told her the truth on purpose.

At first I thought that Elizabeth could have just let the lady think they were thieves and let her go. But looking back, from Elizabeth's point of view letting her live was never an option. Even if the old lady didn't even know that the mail robot was there, as soon as she reported the break-in the FBI would take a closer look at it.

Also, I don't think Phil is so innocent, either. When she tells him there's a witness, he pretty much knows what's going to happen next. And he doesn't seem too worried about it.

Obviously in the minority here, but this show has been on a downward trend since Season 1 for me. Its to easy for Phil and Liz, has been for some while now. I was hoping they wouldn't go that way with Martha, as that was an easy out and they did.

And of course FBI equipment is being repaired in some random facility with no security at all, because you know the FBI just wasn't bugged, so there is no reason to make sure any and all FBI equipment are being handled with tight security and all.

Its just hard for me to look pass the ineptness of everyone else except Phil and Liz.
