It's a constant of the show. Every time Liz and Philth have a big fight and it seems things might fall apart, one of them (normally Liz) gets in trouble and then they go back to realizing they love each other.

I think his father is one of those overbearing dudes who wants to control everything about his son's career. I got from that scene as basically his father potentially working to get Nina out of the prison if Oleg goes back(I think that is his name).

Or I could be wrong and his pops wants him back to watch Nina get executed or some cruel shyt like that

I'm used to seeing TV shows trying to pass of places like Vancouver Canada for New York. But its pretty funny to me how "The Americans" tries to make New York pass for the DC area in the 80's.
