Wasn't a fan of the extended preview they showed in theaters but I actually like this trailer, lol. Just waiting to see how many people will act like Nolan invented the reverse shot gimmick with how much they hype up his gimmick.

I'm not sure we're getting this in 2020 at all
No blockbuster is going to touch theaters if they can't hold more than 1/3 of capacity.

Couldnt they somewhat offset this by showing it on more screens (since tons of shyt is pushed back) for an extra month or so?

That would mean sending out more copies of the film to theaters which costs money too and they'd have to pay theaters to get the film to play on multiple screens. You might think that would be easy if nothing else is playing but if a theater only has a third capacity it's easier for other films to sell out as well. And that's a positive scenario. Here in the Netherlands starting June only 30 people per screening room are allowed. For theaters with an average of 10 screening rooms and total capacity of around 2000 that's only 15% capacity filled.

I'm sure WB is weighing all their options but they can't just rely on domestic box office and worldwide it is a crapshoot to figure out when theaters will allow enough capacity for a broad roll out. That's without taking into account that if a possible second Corona wave hits everything goes back into lockdown and their entire planned release goes down the drain.
