What are you talking about? He's made all types of movies in every genre and has garnered audience, critical and industry acclaim in multiple genres.
Outside of the above mentioned.. Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Aviator, The King of Comedy, Cape Fear,The Last Temptation of Christ, The Color Money, After Hours, Gangs of New York, The Age of Innocence..
none of those are Italian Mob movies. Most of them very successful in one way or another.

that's subjective. Raging Bull was nominated for 8 Academy Awards. Taxi Driver was nominated for 4 Academy Awards. The Aviator was nominated for 11 Academy Awards.
Taxi Driver is in the U.S. Library of Congress for it's social and cultural significance. Magazine and critics' polls have ranked it among the greatest films ever made.
These are all things that a fan of film would know..

Super hero movies " the dark knight"
Scifi movies with mind bending concepts like
"Inception"
Scifi outter space movies like "interstellar"
All very different but all great

Nolan has far more range
Aviator, Taxi Driver, and Raging Bull get more praise than most of his catalog not named Goodfellas. So nah the 99 percent thing doesn't add up. In fact, Goodfellas is the one mob movie in his catalog that gets a lot of praise outside of the other ones. That doesn't add up.
I wouldn't say Nolan has more range; Nolan is interested in different genres. Scorsese is really interested in inner conflict so most of his stories are grounded on earth and deal with that inner conflict and contradictions we have as humans. Nolan's movies, even the ones I love, are less about "people" and more about ideas or institutions around those ideas. Or they involve a big hook with very dense plots where the characters just act as chess pieces to move the plot along.

That's in all likely not on purpose tbh. Nolan's movies traditionally do a terrible job of consistency between cuts/direction of movement in chase scenes. He crosses up directions and order all the time. shyt moves from left to right casually amd at ramdp,. He just goes with what cut looks best. The Batman chase scenes are notorious for this. It'd be an incredible accomplishment if he not only suddenly fixed this weakness in his game and then applied it as a plot point suddenly
