They’re in favour of anyone that is remotely anti MB or Islamists of any stripe. The RSF aren’t religiously inspired or leaning and claim they’re fighting MB and other Islamists in Sudan, hence the UAE backing. There’s also a commercial aspect to it, as Dubai is a clearinghouse for illicit gold trade.

I don’t hold a positive view of current UAE rulers - I think they’re far overextended and trying to influence too many conflicts far outside of their realm.

Gotcha. Idk some of the stuff I've seen and read seems like they're twisting religion and motivated by it to ethnically cleanse non Arabs ie Black people. Black people can be Muslims. UAE is willingly backing the RSF despite this.

It’s ideological. UAE doesn’t mess with the Muslim Brotherhood or allies to it. That’s Turkey and Qatar domain

Never really got a Muslim Brotherhood vibe from the SAF. If that were the case why would Egypt support them? I also don't think the non Arabs the RSF are ethnically cleansing are MB they might not even be Muslim...





Also sure the HTS are clearly salafist but idk about MB. It also seems like Turkey's control over HTS has been overstated.

Worst that can happen is a bunch of smaller fights. The locals would still prefer that to Bashar.

That’ll definitely be Turkeys wish, whether HTS goes along with it we will see. Their direct proxy SNA is attacking parts of Aleppo region and Central Syria they currently control.

Yeah, Erdogan wants the SDF/YPJ gone from its border. But beyond the SNA, it doesn't seem like HTS has it as a priority. Atleast judging by Jolani's statements.

Assad was a paper tiger held up by Iran and Russia/Hezbollah. The wars in Gaza/Lebabon/Ukraine weakened their support system coupled with Syria's economy in shambles the writing was prolly on the wall.

My fear is Syria turns into Libya, warring Islamist and secular factions battling for control and ISIS or one of its spawns taking advantage of the instability to make territorial gains.

I hope I'm wrong

This definitely will happen, we are going to see a bloody civil war down the line

I doubt Russia being out of Africa. They have strong links with Sahel countries leaders after France and the US were expelled from some.
