Considering the history of the Middle East toppling dictators, I wouldn’t be too excited by the prospect of what comes after Assad.


Russian sphere of influence is definitely diminished

I'm wondering if Erdogan has finally decided to put his thumb on the scale to alleviate domestic issues

Assad ran to Moscow. I was praising Syria for staying out of fighting Israel to not stretch their forces but war came anyway.



edit: Apparently the rebels entered Aleppo on November 29.

The Russian fighter jets are busy, Hezbollah leadership has been destroyed. Assad is fukked.
That being said, the little reading I have done on this Syria conflict tells me these guys are as brutal as Assad. I'm not sure there are any 'good guys' here in this conflict
