Let me ask you. What do YOU see as the end goal in Syria? Are you personally wanting to see Assad overthrown? I mean if you're just want to disable his chemical weapons capability I can agree with that. But you realize as said by several people in this thread more educated on the matter than me, the time of overthrowing Assad is over and what Macron is advocating is trying achieve an unlikely and costly if attempted goal.
Secondly, I wonder in your ideal scenario where not only do you have anti-assad rebels in the country but quite a few Islamic militants such as ISIS in the country, who would you put in charge of the "new Syria"?
