If the Ummah was really about taking care of their brethren, then why are the neighboring Arab countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, etc not allowing them to set up shop there?

Only Germany and Sweden took a bit more refugees than other western countries and still the numbers of refugees they host doesn't come close to Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan.

I don’t even know why the US will stay in Syria for the long term. Iran already got their land bridge. Assad is crushing the rebel in every front. The rebels are too busy fighting amongst themselves. Turkey still wants to deal with the Kurdish YPG militarily.
