unfortunately this is a lose / lose situation for your average Syrian

no regime change your stuck with Asad and the civil war

regime change your looking at a Iraq / Afghanistan / Libya total chaos situation

At this point though its too late imo we're beyond the point of that country ever going back to even semi normal in our life time
Syria is worse than Iraq and Libya as ti stands. I do agree its too late for any amicable solution and that the Syrian people are stuck in a terrible situation.

The millions of refugees won't ever be able to return unless the pledge absolute fealty to the Dear Leader either. They've already drafted laws to strip them of their land.

What I always found odd, from a leftist perspective, is how so many ignore class analysis of this conflict. The vast majority of Syrian refugees are from the urban and rural poor of Syria. The poorest parts of Syrian society also were the most fervently opposed to Assad. Yet you got propagandists comparing the anti-Assad refugees to Cuban exiles. Horrible analysis.

Very true. The economic policies of the Baa'thist government also facilitated that unlike other countries in the region.

Assad would have been long ousted if the situation was reversed and the middle to upper classes were wanting his removal.

tweet out your millitary plans brehs

Didn't this fukking idiot make constant comments about how counterproductive it was to telegraph your strategy, especially during the re-taking of Mosul? There is a tweet for everything...

Also, I read speculation that part of the reason that the Russian Navy is leaving port at Tartus is to ensure that their naval assets don't get hit in case the US hits the port. There is no chance that could be the plan, could it? :mindblown::mindblown::mindblown:
