Jaysh Al-Islam went from agreeing to a deal with the Russian negotiators to digging in one last time to now leaving Douma all within the last 48 hours.

In the Silver Lining
Assad apologists

Funny how Trump says he is ready to leave and another chlorine attack happens a week later.

Let's think rationally here. Most of the rebels have been swept out of Syria, Trump says he is leaving, so why would Assad bring attention to his self from the international community and kill civilians with chemical weapons? Why? What is the motive?

Your only response is "Assad apologist" ... :dead:

Suddenly you too are Team MAGA when the warmongering looks possible.

Makes no sense militarily for the Assad regime to use chemical weapons. They have launched a month long offensive into East Ghouta and captured 85% of rebel territory without chemical weapons and now they used it in Douma the last rebel enclave in Damascus? Especially the Russian and Syrian Air Force are armed with fuel air bombs that do more damage than chemical weapons. And with devastating artillery like TOS-1. Trump will likely launch another symbolic strike but won’t change the realities on the ground. The rebels are losing and Assad is winning.

You cannot be serious about this. How many times are you guys gonna use this canard when a chemical attack makes the news? If rebels had such a wide secret stockpile of chemical weapons, why on earth have they never been used against the Assad military, militias, or supporting population? Why is it only a steady stream of “false flag” attacks where these chemical weapons are available? They’ve used everything else at their disposal, yet you guys stretch logic so far to believe they would refuse to use this potent weapon on anything but their own communities.

This has has been the narrative as far back as 2013 for the record. As far as I can tell, the whole point of this whole debate about “logic” is to sow confusion and muddy the waters about the brutality of Assad abroad, while his supporters revel in it in Arabic.

Can you guys name a single conflict in history where chemical weapons were only used in self inflicted attacks in history?

Here is a pro Herb guy bragging about bombings of Douma only being an appetizer, a day before the chemical attack, and saying the real surprise is yet to come.

To date, there have been zero real repercussions either militarily or territory wise for Assad despite widespread use of chemical weapons. If anything, they’ve helped terrify remaininig populations to submit faster in stubborn pockets. Just a few posts above @FAH1223 posts a link showing Jaish Al Islam decided to pull an about turn on their position, after the attack and yet he is still claiming their was no incentive to use chemical weapons :what:

This is a level of Srebrenica denial :manny: funny thing is that regime supporters will muddy the waters enough to confuse anyone as the story is in the spotlight but will never follow up when further investigation follows. Reminds me of when they were claiming the rebels were poisoning their own water, and the UN inquiry proved conclusively that Assad was at fault and it was crickets and no revisiting.

Can the people who question every chemical weapon attack, even acknolwedge that the Syrian regime indeed possess chemical weapons and that its highly likely it didn’t use its entire stockpile? Or is even that hard to admit?

This is the level of sophistication behind regime propaganda. Posting 40 year old water treatment chlorine as evidence of rebel stockpile, and this is the more credible side according to y’all :heh:

If that is the case the regime is militarily retarded. Because they have plenty of conventional weapons at their disposal that does worse damage than chemical weapons. You have the Russian and Iranians backing you up with serious firepower. And not only that you are already beating back the rebels. You dumb as hell risking using chemical weapons that could invite intervention.
