I'm telling y'all. They wanted TRIBAL COMBAT to be the only gimmicky match on the card so this match got shafted. Could've been in a cage. Could've been a fight pit. Nah. Scripted MMA
Awful. I don’t know why they haven’t learned wrestling fans don’t want to see fake ass boxing or mma fights. We already watching fake wrestling lol.
Damn that sucks. It definitely should’ve been a pit style thing like Matt Riddle vs Tim Thatcher. Still one of my favorite matches from the past few years and I do believe the main event had something to do with pit Ronda/Shayna was booked.

This reminded me of when Damien Mizdow eliminated himself from the battle Royal after Miz got eliminated. Ayo that was one of the most hilarious things I ever seen :bryan:

Mizdow should have been given more of a chance :snoop:

Horsemen used to beat people asses then recruit them just to turn on them then beat they asses again :bryan:

Sting and Dusty(RIP) :sas2:

Yea it’s customary for heels to cheat often but they really making him look weak. From Brock at SummerSlam last year to now, just about every challenger he had for the title would have won if it weren’t for outside interference :mjtf:

Yea but in 2021 and most if not all of 2022 Rome stayed defending the title. If he not dropping it anyway, there really isn’t a point in building someone up just to be fed to Rome. They did that with Cesaro, Finn, Edge, D Bry and to some extent Sami KO Jey and others. You can even throw Brock in that list.

Now that there’s a new world champ it don’t even make sense for Rome to defend the title every PLE especially if we already know the outcome.
Mizdow had me doubled over selling suplexes vs nobody while both usos looked all kinds of confused. Still pissed they never tried to see where he could’ve gone after WM31.

As for match finishes, it isn’t that hard for a heel to win on his own and neither guy is hurt by it. Brock, Angle, Rusev, & Gunther have all routinely won clean as heels (or at least won on their own even if they cheat) right off the top of my head and it hasn’t hurt anyone. There’s a ton of ways to get heat beyond a disappointing finish to a match. In fact it helped all of them I would say. Jimmy & Jey winning hell in a cell as the heels vs the new day is another great example. The run in finish has a real short shelf life before it starts to hurt everyone involved and it’s the only one they want to use with Roman. I don’t recall how his match with cena 2 years ago went but since then here’s his title defenses with a non run in finish:

vs Seth Rollins at the 2022 Royal Rumble where he intentionally got disqualified and they dropped it immediately after

vs Brock at wrestlemania 38 & that match sucked

vs Matt riddle on a random taping of smackdown last June.

That’s the whole list.

As for his rarely defending the belt, that’s why he should’ve dropped it a long time ago. There’s only so much good you can get out of your top heel if he isn’t putting over any faces. Eventually you run out of guys for him to wrestle and turning your top guy into a part timer because you don’t want him running over the roster is bad too since now a lot of the roster has no prize to compete for. It’s the company low key admitting “yeah we kinda fukked up”

brehs...

do we get a full Bianca heel turn now?

Does she add to the stable of Hurt Profits + Bobby?
The crowd has like sky for a while now. They might have to turn her. I don’t think it would be the worst idea. I think it’d be better to leave her working solo. We still don’t really know exactly how Lashley & the street profits are gonna present themselves as a team yet.

I say Summerslam is the weakest PLE post-Mania but I give it a solid 6.75

-No MOTY candidates on one of the biggest wrestling shows of the year

-Ronda vs Shayna killed the crowd, LA Knight brought the crowd back to life the next match but at the same time the energy never felt suitable for some matches after (Gunther vs Drew, Women's Title Match)

-Good match but I expected more between Gunther and Drew

-I actually enjoyed the women's title match, but the sloppiness and no-energy from the crowd the quality was brought down

- Finn vs Seth was MOTN for me I just didn't like the outcome and I felt Finn looked stupid there

- Tribal Combat was the biggest disappointment. . . I'm the biggest Roman fan and a Bloodline Angle supporter like most folks but we need to be honest-- Before the dumbass Jimmy turn, I had a hard time enjoying the match. This match was hyped the fukk up just for it to be regular extreme rules match or whatever... Tribal Combat had no identity..... What really set me off was how the first 15 minutes of the match came off as a regular singles match.. Like why are they taking their time in the ring trying to tell a story when it should be on sight with weapons within the first min of their match? With Roman's and Jey's history, they should have approached this match differently. And I also hated the Jimmy turn.. The Bloodline storyline is overused, and milked, when there is a bunch of other opponents Roman can start facing at these PLEs.

There were some highlights tho

-Iyo had a big moment

- Cody and Brock had a great match that actually worked putting Cody over

- Paul vs Ricochet was a great opener

- LA Knight finally got a W in an enjoyable battle royal

- Seth and Finn had their best match with one another

- again, I enjoyed the women's title match despite everything

- The show didn't drag

Imma guess it's like 30⁰C there right now despite it being middle of the night lol

I was there in March and the heat was unbearable :bryan:

It was 24 last night, and it’s 28 now. We’ve not had much sunshine for the past month or so :lupe:
