doesn’t mean you can’t hate the character(s)…I hated the tony soprano character but that wasn’t indicative of me feeling the quality of the show, writing, characters wasn’t stellar…as a matter of fact I give the writer(s) a lot of props for being able to create a character that can make me loathe them as if they were real

He is absolutely unqualified which is why I think the show runners might make him head. The implication being that our news networks and corporations in general are being run by people as blubberingly incompetent as Greg. Trying to relay a "deeper" message.
