this ep makes a lot more sense watching it on just one edible vs six

from start to end this was about living+ with ken and rome taking a much more calculated gamble than I thought…they weren’t as unhinged as I initially thought…granted rome could’ve used some polish with how he handled joy and gerri but he was absolutely right about the lack of respect they showed him

*edit*

…and as I rewatch this ep I’m again reminded why shiv taking over was never gonna be an option with logan

I think Roman's lashing out like @Jean toomer said. He almost immediately regretted firing Gerri (maybe he remembered that she could make his life miserable with a sexual harassment suit), but Kendall was too busy trying to get a fake Living+ house put up for his presentation to deal with it. Roman wanted Kendall to play good cop and walk back his firing of Gerri, but Kendall's just like FIRE EVERYBODY, BRO, YEAH!

There's a reason that he replayed that joke message from his pops that Kendall sent him over and over at the end. Because he knows he's a fukkup with a microdikk.

Kendall's gamble is reckless enough that he's got the CFO ready to tattle on him, but it's slightly more calculated. At least there is a reasonable plan there. Investors love dumb tech promises that can't possibly be honored, like Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, and they'll throw money into a company that promises shyt it can't deliver on. Kendall went up there, talked about nursing homes full of Waystar Royco IP entertainment that will eventually keep you alive forever, and as nonsense as that is, it's something that will goose the stock price. His issue is that he's flying too close to the sun on getting his financial team to make up crazy financial projections for Living+, but the general idea - goose the stock price so high that Matsson can't afford the company anymore - makes a ton of sense.

Matsson's a dumbass, tweeting wild shyt that isn't going to help lower any Waystar Royco stock bump out of desperation, but he's smart enough to get what Kendall's trying to do.

Them edibles aint a joke. I remember i took a few as i was flying home. Last thing i remembered was going through TSA. Woke up in my bed the next day. My car was at long term parking yet back in my driveway when i woke up so i must have driven home. Never doing edibles when i got shyt to do again, rainy day activity only:francis:

I’m watching this ep with a lot more clarity…that had to sting ken like hell the way roman pulled out at the last second but maybe that was a turning point for him as that would’ve typically crushed him but instead he just dialed things back a bit and was able to focus for the better

ken getting on stage and seeing where this goes feels a lot more tense now even tho I know the outcome…this was really an all-or-nothing play :whew:

*edit*

I didn’t realize last night just how much rome and shiv played themselves this ep…granted their concerns were valid…just that ken ended up falling on the right side of the fence…still tho they doubted him right before his finest hour…gonna be interesting to see their relationship moving forward…do they bow to the new king or try to take him out? completely wild thought but I wonder if they’re ruthless enough to bring up ken’s involvement in the boy’s death…the past 3 seasons have been about them battling each other for the throne and they’ve done some nasty things to undermine each other during that time…maybe that changes since the father’s gone

According to the show runner it did. Ken got a W by the end. You can tell by the look on Shiv’s face and the Karl being back on his dikk. :mjlol:
And the fukk you shoulder bump Roman gave Shiv before he left. Kendall looking like the true leader instead of them both being CEO. They basically “made him stronger”.

Do y’all think that Roman backing out at the last second in a way made Kendall dial it down a little and actually zero in on what he needed to say to make the presentation a success? I ask cuz I think if Rome was there Kendall might’ve been too confident and leaned on the goofy shyt like he’s done before.
That’s possible. He was already dialing shyt back when Roman approached him.

True. A clout exercise hoping that they can use it to justify raising the price of their company so high the Norweigan guy will back off but I don’t think that’ll happen. My guess is Shiv will eventually leak that harassment claim she knows about with dude and his communications manager and blow up the deal. Still up in the air on which sibling will come out on top. Roman is both too indecisive and impulsive at the same time. Shiv is an emotional train wreck and Kendall is a goof.
But TOGETHER, they could pull this shyt off. I really believe that…

Love how smooth it was, dude was telling Ken that maybe he should pull the plug a and when the chick came with "they are ready for you" so it was too late to plug it, Rome just when "good luck" and left.

He never actually said I ain't talking, just left the room.
