Wow, i don’t remember that. Yeah, thats a fumble when you’re not that close with your cousins to begin with
Lol no it was shiv probing his vulnerability and goaded him into going up higher cause of the weirdo skeletons in his closet.Thats hardball.
Damn, Roman speech basically got Mattsson to run his pockets. They still won in the end
Let's hear itAnyone read about the iPhone theory?
Let's hear it
Alright, y'all aren't going to shyt on Shiv like she doesn't deserve to be in the room, but Ken and Roman do. Those two fukkbois can't get right at all in a negotiation. Ken babbles every vocab word he's learned at corporate retreats and Roman is a weirdo who tugs his dikk to old ladies talking shyt to him and has that skeevy weirdo negative charisma. They're fukking weird.
Shiv is actually good at PR. She averted the former Waystar Cruises employee going to Congress to testify. Blew that whole thing up just by talking her out of it. If you're going to send someone in to negotiate, you'd send Shiv by herself. Roman and Kendall with their hacky-ass leaks. Shiv knew immediately that Kendall was behind the leaks about how out of it Logan was, and the Swede figured out their dumbass play with trying to get him to walk away immediately.
Truth is, Shiv, Ken, and Roy all have one aspect of Logan's business sense, but not the other two. Kendall has Logan's ruthlessness, but not his business sense or talking skills. Roman has the business sense, but can't talk and is a soft bytch. Shiv can talk even if she doesn't have the business sense because she was outside the company for so long. She's also the only one of the three who's had an actual job she was good at of the three - and she's at least somewhat ruthless.
On another note, does everyone think that Elon sends Grimes a pint of blood every two months? I bet he does.
i assume all the people getting kicked don’t get paid from the acquisition?
Hell Karl and Frank want to be let goI think they actually get paid massively. It just feels bad to be let go, but they'll get over it.
All in play tonightRoman has the instincts
Shiv has the skills of manipulation
Kendall has the arrogance and ruthlessness (but without the heart)
I knew Shiv hive was getting too smug after this episode. She got played per usual.

On the surface it does look like Shiv is getting played by Matsson when he was stroking her ego and trying to build a connection with her around her brothers. But the more you think about it, why would Shiv care? She realizes she’s being iced out by Ken and Rome, which is absolutely true given she isnt even being informed of their plan to tank the deal and keep playing boss.
Reciprocating Matsson’s little play gives her at least some influence on personnel changes, a chance to gut ATN as is, and most importantly, give her a shytload more money. She literally loses almost nothing from this and only gains. Even if the influence and the “Bloomberg grey” ATN turn out to be fake, the money is the most important thing and is very much real
Ken and Rome doesnt even have to know about the full scale of Shiv’s little rapport. Even if they do, so what? They have to still appear outwardly supportive of the deal bc the board and shareholders would sue them to death if they turned down that good of a deal out of sentimental reasons. Any maybe this ruins their future PGM three fukketeers happy family plans, but I think Shiv realizes if she’s getting iced out of a Waystar triumverate, she’ll get iced out of PGM too
And idk if the blood thing is real or not, or if its actually important, or if theres any plotline of her using it against Matsson for any reason, but planting rumors, character assassination, and shaping public opinion against someone on flimsy evidence is literally her former job as a political consultant. You think the online court of public opinion these days require authentic corroborating sources? Especially against a somewhat weird tech billionaire?
TLDR: Shiv already lost her first choice when her successor dreams ended in flames in S2 and S3, her second best choice now is getting as much money out of this deal as possible. Everything else is just illusory, and for this reason she did the right thing, Matsson playing her or not wont matter in the end with the deal pumped up from 144 to 192, she can cry herself to sleep on beds made of silk diamonds
