its a fair question :yeshrug:the proposed policy is completely arbitrary

you know what the problem with this shyt is? the implication that the problem isnt cost being too high, but that theres a cost at all

someone who chose to get a degree, and makes 6 figures because of that degree, when median income in america is like 40k... why shouldnt they have to pay for that investment :dahell: because they dont feel like it?

which is an acceptable answer, but it shouldnt be a surprise that theres not widespread support for "blanket pay off 50k of everyones shyt" :dead:
:beli: Cut the bs, we all know the only reason you concern troll this thread / topic is because you bootstrapped your way into paying off student loans within a couple years.

You want a pat on the back?

If you recently graduated or still had debt, we all know you'd be singing a different tune and not fiscal responsibility bs.

Also the reality is many people didnt and werent in the position to pay off their student loans for a variety of reasons. A lot of people weren't able to finish paying off their student loans because they never even finished school, so that one little piece of paper + student loans has been the gatekeeper to their financial burden in life.

I'm all for cancelling a decent portion of student loans.

of course I aint trying be responsible and pay this back either :heh:

So you agree the ROI on higher education does not fall in line with the barrier to entry.

That's why people are talking about student debt relief in conjunction with increasing the overall affordability of college.

Don't worry, if they merely made college free you'd be in here saying, "well what's about the people who had to pay."

We get it you're a selfish person. :russ:

maybe im a bad messenger, it wouldnt be the first topic :skip:

but it seems like this shyt just doesnt land with the public, and theres better ways to propose relief that might actually happen instead of selling each other pipe dreams

or not :yeshrug:

i support making state college free :yeshrug: but that kinda ties into what im saying tho

it doesnt inherently make any fukkin sense to say "this kid went to state and owes 20, this kid went to Elon and owes 50,this kid went to trade school and owes 3, so just forgive it all because circumstances matter absolutely zero"

at the end of the day, the shyt is just borderline goofy :russ: to the point where its not even in bad faith to throw in arbitrary shyt for other people

Elon is private. State is public.

That tweet showing the huge leap in debt for high income earning blacks people is exactly what me and @No1 been hollerin about but got hit with top 10% rhetoric :heh:
Both of yall have chosen not to pay off your debts because you've found more valuable investments for your money.

Let's all be honest here. :bryan:

How much debt you got bro? (If you don’t mind saying)

I thought they were changing PSLF to wash 10k for each year of public service. With me for example, if this nikka Biden really wash 10 for us, I’ll have 33k left. But since I been in non-profit since Oct 2017.. I’m eligible to have 4 more years retroactively (40k) washed.

Just a head up breh and for everyone out there. A homie of mine did the public loan forgiveness and got 50k off his loan. Brotha works for DCMA.

But for what I know you must make consecutive payments with no lapses (even retroactively)...no forbearance and no waivers or the time resets. Not sure if biden is going to change this policy.

Folks forget with these loan forgiveness plans they have requirements that you must meet the time and meet the consecutive payments. The difference between obamas administration forgiveness plan that only about under 100k people met the requirements for the loan forgiveness. I believe biden will open up the requirements but the 5 years or 10 years and consecutive payments will still be a requirement.

Even if biden does the 10k forgiveness folks still gonna be pissed when they find out only certain jobs are eligible, certain salaries limits are eligible and those eligible jobs don't pay as much as the jobs certain folks have now.
