I mean it was announced yesterday so he obviously knew. If anything they’re trying to not give him that out about it potentially being illegal. Even if it is dubious, which I’m not sure it is, you do the same thing that you did with Obamacare - you put the courts in the position of taking a benefit away from Americans. Who actually files that suit and pushes for it? Which Republican is going to be happy for people to see loans show up in their mail again? I feel like it’s an easy win and Schumer knows it. You do this and you basically lock in a generation that is already to the left, forever.

it has to apply to society in a much broader way. most people arent tryna hear that people who chose to go to college are getting the equivalent of a 50k check written
or go for a more realistic, palatable form. cutting everyones balance in half, and killing all current and future interest, is a much easier sell. people are still paying for their choice to go to school, as they should, but its a SOLID level of relief
and it kills me with this all or nothing approach that no one is talking about interest. just get that shyt outta there permanently

And it's laughable for Biden to argue that loan forgiveness takes money away from other education programs. The money is already spent. It may add to the national debt, but current loan programs run the US Govt a profit, mostly because of 6% interest rates for borrowers.
Congress is the only game here. Biden citing public service loan forgiveness is hilarious. It already is what we have
