Yes they are. See Nancy pelosiNo Democrat is against debt relief b.
I’m talking about the average voter my guy. And Schumer literally pressed Biden on it as the leader of the party in the Senate.Yes they are. See Nancy pelosi
Literally what I came in here to say. The next 4 years will just be posts of Trump's Department of Education stopping and rolling back Student Loan debt cancellation opportunities. Nobody wants to see that.Just shut this thread down at this point
I mean they barely instituted any student loan debt cancellation.
I mean they barely instituted any student loan debt cancellation.
And most of it was either for fraudulent schooling OR debt forgiveness for public service.
Policies which date back George W. Bush.
Whatever Trump is doing or will do is fugazi to me because the main problem, the main issue
is still here:
Exorbitant pricing attached to earning skills in a given vocation.
Biden totally failed on this and half heartedly pursued it, if he was as dogmatic about student
loan forgiveness as he is about arming his vassal states, we'd have gotten somewhere.
I'm straight but for anyone else. I hope y'all get it figured out.
I think the problem I have with this, is it was ultimately a smoke screen. The Biden administration forgave $175 billion of student debt for 5 million people.
And that's literally because of the existing forgiveness programs that were not working dating back to Bush. Miguel Cardona basically primed the pump for the programs to actually work according to the law and rule making that helped expand some of the relief.
It is certainly a big accomplishment.
But you are right, Biden not trying to do anything until after 2021 was a failure. I think he had a big window with the passage of the American Rescue Plan and the time before the Afghanistan withdrawal to make real headway since the pandemic emergency was only a year in.
