Well, I take back the red wave.
Student debt, it is clear that Biden is correct legally. We have right wing activist judges that don't care about the law. The Biden administration is projecting confidence they will overcome the legal challenges.
There's a legit argument that they should have had the rollout for this ready and for borrowers to get relief immediately perhaps using the 1965 Higher Education Act. There were 3-4 weeks of precious time that gave these right wing billionaires time to find plaintiffs.. these motherfukkers are like cock roaches.
Whether this helped in the election remains to be seen. We need to see more data but the 18-30 year old demo going for Dems even more this time around might be a correlation.
I forgot about Terry McAullife restoring felon rights to vote en masse in Virginia, being blocked by the VA Supreme Court, and then he did it case by case.
Since the US Dept of Education got 26M applications for this relief... theoretically, they could easily be able to devise pretty lax standards. They reduced the time for many borrowers to get PSLF forgiveness.
Biden's or Cardona's electronic signature will get a workout big time here..

so does this mean CA borrowers get forgiveness regardless of what happens in other states?
This is a separate class of borrowers it looks like not related to the forgiveness plan.
