Here's what should happen: all this shyt needs to get canceled. And if you borrow again you're on your own. Private loans cease to exist.

What should realistically happen: No interest on federal loans ever again. Private loans need to have interest capped at 2-3%, and offer income based repayment like fed loans. and forgive 10-25K per borrower, letting them put it towards private loans if they have them.

I'm all for it. :yeshrug:

People scared of the backlash but again, there are plenty of non-college cosigned parents holding the bag that would love to have this off their books as well.

Yup. Lots of 50-70 year olds on fixed income and close to retirement getting crushed by this.

I would love to see this happen.

@Serious if my pslf years get cut :banderas:!!!

I just started. if they cut this from 10 to 5?!? SHEEEEIT. That would be so helpful to me.

People on private loans need help too

FAFSA is getting stringent

BRUH! HELP! Smh. I'm just tryna chip away, and chunk these shyts off. smh.

If you putting interest at 0% and suspending payments, may as well forgive a bunch

"Instead of having a massive student debt jubilee where we make a big production of it and stamp our brand on this massive display of power that positively impacts millions of the most valuable demographic constituency, let's just quietly sneak it in under cloak and dagger and hope nobody notices we've done anything"

Doing a policy in effect but being scared to say so out loud - thereby foregoing all the political branding benefits and credit - is like the most typical Dem 101 behavior, so I'm now sure this is exactly what Biden will end up doing.
