Homecoming had about 1/10th the hype of BVS though.

Can't speak for anyone else but I never exepected Homecoming to hit a billion. It would have had to have been AMAZING (no pun) to reach that number.

I never expected Homecoming to make a billion either. I do agree though Dawn of Justice should have made a billion but the money it did make is nothing to sneeze at.

BVS has been surpassed domestically by too many movies that had a fraction of the hype.

The fact that it was a steaming dumpster fire and made as much as did should tell you all you need to know. Off the top I'm struggling to think of a movie THAT bad that made THAT much. Maybe the transformers movies.

Not really on the stan wars, but I think this movie will regain a lot of the good will that sony lost over the years. It reviewed great and was different than the predecessors. I think the sequel will be more anticipated and perform better.
